    After years of doing this i stopped caring about "string slip" pull the string through the tuner, pull it tight then turn the tuner, job done, no knots, no wrapping, no farting around. Changing string is easy now, no more bull Try it next time, you will be amazed

    From here on, my go-to instructor on anything to do with the guitar and all its basics needs… I have been stringing, guitars the locking style for so long, following people like Joe Walsh, countless luthiers, people who work on my guitars over the past 30 years, and I am just now finding out how it's really done. I have a wrap on my guitar machine heads that ensures staying in tune until those strings are worthless. They sound beautiful - I am going to get laid by women who don't even know or could care less about guitar set up, but just by the enthusiasm of guitarists around me seeing how it actually gets done...... I don't have to tell any of you guys who have been around the block a few times how energy is what makes a woman enthused and amused to the point of being abused (although, I don't care if you're a Hells angel, I catch you abusing a woman and you're fucking done… Just kidding guys I'm just kidding 1000 times over but I had to make an extreme point )I have a Taylor just like the one he's working on, and I cannot believe that for the first time I did a professional job just by watching this guy..... I am so proud of myself, but it's this man who has instilled my pride. He's bigger than Jesus. And to think there's more to learn! Thanks, Art.

    When I remove the Endpins, I use a Endpins Puller or Stringwinders usually have a Endpins Puller Slot built into them to use so metal plyers or cutting pliers do not damage the Endpins Heads or String Grooves. You can take and use a Guitar Pick or Wooden Round Disc or Popsicle Stick to press against the bottom of the Endpins applying pressure pushing upwards to remove Endpins from their Bridge Plate Hole Slots. Never wiggle Endpins out of their Hole Slots because you will wallow out the Hole Slots and may have to have your Hole Slots reamed out to a Larger size along with having to use a Larger Sized Endpins. I String my Strings through the Bridge and make sure that the Strings stay Straight with No Kinks, No Bends, No Serpentine Curves anywhere along the lengths of the entire strings from Bridge to Headstock Strings Post Holes. Any such makes a string Sound Out Untrue Tonally, Decreases String Resonance and Jeopardizes String Life & Longevity & will never Tune Up True & Maintain True Tuning & make sure any "Tuner's Gearing Backlash" is removed from Tuners Gearing Travel by Tuning Strings Down then back Up to Tune. Never Tune Strings Up Past the Tuning you use to play in, & then Tune Back Down to Tune you use to play in, because such Tuning Method will create Tuners Gearing Play or Backlash, which will make your Strings become Out Of Tune as the guitar sits idle as well as when you play it. These facts I learned years ago from a Master Luthier named "Frank Ford", along with the Luthier's Strings Posts Knots demonstrated in this "TRES GR8T Video Tutorial" by "FreedomSeeker01" , " Thanks" & Play On FretBro's & FretSis's . . . 👍😎🎸🤘☺️🎼🇺🇸🙏 DDH 7-11-2023.

    Super frustrating I wasted probably 3 string packs trying to do this. When I do the under and wrap around it won’t stay and ends up looking wonky . I’m so lost and confused

    Would like some accurate advice on how much slack to actually measure and use. And I don't think anyone should ever use wire cutters to remove the pegs at the bridge.

    • @freedomseeker01
      @freedomseeker01 Рік тому

      The amount of slack depends on the string. A very thin string can be wound around the peg many times with minimal bulk and no overlap whereas a wound E string will fill up the peg quickly. Just experiment a bit and allow progressively a little more slack on the thinner strings. Regarding the wire cutters, Art is holding them open at the ideal width to create a perfect two pronged pry bar. He has changed hundreds of sets of strings and I'm confident he has never cut or dented a peg using this method. Furthermore, he can cut whatever string whenever needed and doesn't need another tool to do it. Do what you want, but Art is the SME here. If you want to contradict his wisdom, you should maybe listen to him play guitar first. He changes strings as a courtesy to his customers yet, like all great guitar players, changes his own strings regularly because it is one of the essentials required for the awesome tone he can pull out of an otherwise inanimate object.

    • @zapa1pnt
      @zapa1pnt Рік тому

      I will pull the string tight, through the peg and then pull it back to the next tuner. That is for the E A D and G. For the B and high E, I will pull a little less.
